Nobody really has a handle on how the scoring system was created as far as i know. In tennis love means nothing. then you have 15-30-40 Game. Duce, Ad in, Ad out. People got to lazy to say 15 so for the first point it’s common to say 5 instead of 15.
Maintaining a clay or grass court is very labor intensive which is the reason that 90% of the courts in the United States are hard courts while most countries feature clay courts at a 90% ratio.
Im my opinion learning to play on clay first is an advantage,. You have to learn a complete game with good footwork and conditioning. The chances are that a clay court player will play on a hard court long before a hard court player plays on clay.
